Discover our apricots

The apricot is a fruit with sweet, firm flesh that is not very juicy.

Its skin is velvety and edible. The color of an apricot’s skin can vary, ranging from yellow to red. It may even be dotted with “freckles.” However, apricots continue to ripen after they are picked. Therefore, their color is not an indication of ripeness.

This fruit has a high carotene content, which is rich in provitamin A. It is the carotene that gives the apricot its orange color.

There are different varieties of apricots:

  • ‍Orange-red: This is an apricot whose color is halfway between orange and red. Its flesh is juicy and sweet, giving it a smooth texture.
  • Bergeval: Like the Orangered, this is an apricot with orange skin. However, its skin is thicker and smoother. As for its flesh, it is melt-in-your-mouth and juicy.
  • Bergeron: This variety of apricot has skin that ranges from yellow-gold to orange. The flesh of these apricots is quite juicy and sweet, with a hint of tartness.
  • Pricia: The skin of this apricot variety is red and thick. Its flesh is thinner. It’s tender and juicy. As for its taste, it’s a rather tart apricot.
  • Colorado: A colorful apricot with thick skin. Its flesh is thinner and melts in your mouth. It has a tangy flavor.
  • Tom Cot: This orange-colored apricot is fairly firm, although its flesh is juicy and melts in your mouth. It also has a sweet and tangy flavor.
