The size ranges from a few grams (red currant tomato) to almost 2 kg;
The shape is generally spherical, more or less flattened, more or less ribbed, but there are some in the shape of a heart or a pear;
The color, initially green, usually turns red when ripe, but there are white, yellow, black, pinks, greens, violets, oranges and bicolors.
